Get Moving, Mama. How to Stay Faithful to Exercise

Struggle to exercise each day, Mama?  You like how exercise makes you feel amazing and strong, but it’s hard to fit it into your busy mom life.  Maybe one week you are super on fire, moving your body every day, and the next week, you don’t exercise once.  Then you feel bad about not sticking to it.

I get it! That’s why I wanted to add exercise to our Renewed Mama Podcast Renew Your Health series.  Let’s get moving, Mama.  Let’s learn how to stay faithful to exercise.

My special guest today is Melissa Ublansky, whom everyone calls Mel.  Mel is the co-owner of Kure Fit & Flow Studio, a yoga and movement studio in Ingersoll, Ontario. 

Mel is a wife and mom to two amazing children.  She is passionate about health and wellness for the mind and body.  She loves to experiment with all kinds of movement classes that are fun and motivating.

Want to Know How to Stay Faithful to Exercise?

Mel shares why we should prioritize exercise as part of our day as moms. She shares a healthy mindset we can have around exercise and how to fit exercise in regularly. 

Remember that you are a priority, and the healthier you are, the more you have to give to your family. Discover how you love to move your body and how you can fit movement into your day even if it is for ten minutes. Mel calls these “workout snacks.” Make the time to do it, and find an accountability friend to keep you motivated. (minute 2:43)

Mel has always loved to move her body. She shares all of the fun ways she has moved her body over the years and stuck with it because movement is her medicine. (minute 6:51)

Mel shares how Kure Fit & Flow Studio began, and how she loves that it’s a place for everybody. The studio offers community, friendship, accountability, and fun. (minute 14:07)

Facing menopause? Mel shares how to listen to your body and change up your exercise and movement while transitioning through menopause. (minute 17:38)

When I asked Mel the question, “What do you wish all moms knew?” her answer is such a great one. She wants you to know that you can do anything. (minute 20:54)

You don’t have to stay stuck whether that’s with exercise, your job, or how you feel in your body. It’s OK to change. You don’t have to stay the same.
